Stamping is the process of plastic deformation of the material to change body shape and size. Most often metals or plastics undergo stamping. Tape width ranges from 5 to 400 mm, a thickness from 0.1 to 5 mm.
There are two basic types of stamping – sheet and bulk.
Stamping involves the original body, one of the measurements of which is negligible compared with the other two (the sheet to 6 mm). An example is the process of stamping punching sheet metal, which produces perforated metal. Otherwise, stamping is called balking.
Press machines are used for stamping, the devices which can deform materials, such as steel, copper, aluminum, bronze, paronit, by mechanical impact.
