Titanium tantalum tungsten carbides are used for the production of inserts for various applications.  These are three-phase sintered materials based on tungsten carbide, titanium, tantalum and cobalt binder.

Unlike the classical two-phase tungsten alloy, in the structure of titanium tantalum tungsten carbides there is a phase of solid solution of titanium-tantalum-tungsten rounded grains.

Titanium tantalum tungsten alloys are characterized by high hardness, high strength at high temperatures, high resistance to oxidation, high abrasion resistance and high hot hardness. Furthermore they have a high viscosity, wear resistance, and provide outstanding strength of the cutting edge of the tool.
